Travel prices are expected to rise sharply in 2019, with hotels going up 3.7%, and flights 2.6%, driven by a growing global economy and rising oil prices, according to the fifth annual Global Travel Forecast, published today by GBTA and CWT with the support of the Carlson Family Foundation.

I recently read a study which found that global smartphone dependence continues to grow, with a quarter of millennials looking at their phone more than 100 times a day.

The percentage of business travelers who book hotels within their corporate travel programs has hovered around 50% - 60% for years. Travel managers told GBTA one reason is that their travelers want to stay at a different type of property than what’s available in their program. Another big reason? A couple of weeks ago, a colleague played us a video of Japanese organizing guru Marie Kondo working her magic.
